Alex Rodriguez praises Jennifer Lopez after Golden Globes disappointment: 'You are a champion'

Jennifer Lopez might not have taken home a Golden Globe on Sunday night, but the Hustlers actress is still a winner in fiancé Alex Rodriguez’s eyes.

The former Yankees player took to Instagram just after the award show to give his longtime partner praise for the way that she’s changed lives through her work.

“Jen, it doesn’t take a trophy, medal, or plaque to identify a true champion,” he wrote. “To millions of young women who have watched you and have been inspired and empowered to do amazing things in their lives, you are a champion.”

A-Rod went on to write about the ways that Lopez is a champion for both performers who look up to her from afar and to family and friends that know her more intimately.

“To everyone whose lives you enrich daily, you are a champion,” the post concludes. “And don’t you ever forget it.”

Rodriguez’s words were met with support from friends and fans alike who also celebrated the performer.

“An inspiration and winner to all of us,” one wrote. Another added, “She’s a queen!”

Some even took the opportunity to gush over the couple and A-Rod’s never-ending support for his future wife.

“You guys are too cute,” someone commented. “I need an Arod,” wrote another.

Lopez herself even commented, “You are my everything.”

Still, the post wasn’t the first sentimental one from Rodriguez on Sunday evening. In fact, he posted photos with Lopez throughout the night, including one where he referred to himself as “Head of @jlo security.”

Lopez also posted a photo of herself posed with her fiancé before heading to a Golden Globes after-party. In a white ensemble with lace and feather detailing, she certainly looked like a winner.
