Alex Rodriguez and Jennifer Lopez are being sued by a man who claims that they were passengers in a vehicle that struck him behind a Los Angeles restaurant last October, TMZ reported Friday.

The accuser, Liyanage Perera, says he was walking behind an eatery off Melrose Avenue on Oct. 16, 2018, when he was hit by their Cadillac SUV, according to documents obtained by TMZ.

TMZ’s report includes video footage of the alleged incident. The video shows a photographer, reported to be Perera, lying on the ground after allegedly being hit by the SUV. However, the video does not show the moment of impact.

Here's more from TMZ's report:

Liyanage admits A-Rod and J Lo were not behind the wheel, but in the suit he claims they failed to instruct their security team to be careful as they pulled away from the restaurant. He also points out they didn't stop to check on him ... or as he puts it ... "they quickly fled the scene."

TMZ notes that Liyanage reported the incident to the Sheriff's Dept., but no criminal charges were ever filed.

Law enforcement sources told us pedestrians are not allowed to block a vehicle by standing in front of it, and drivers are permitted to creep forward.

The extent of the accuser’s injuries were not made available in the report.

Rodriguez and Lopez also have not responded to TMZ's request for a comment.

The Hollywood couple began dating in 2017 and were engaged to be married in March. They are seen together frequently, including at many of Lopez's concerts and Rodriguez's broadcasting assignments for FOX Sports and ESPN.
