It's definitely a weird time to be buying pants. Up is down! Left is right! Confused? So are we. But you shouldn't be. Because Alex Mill's expertly crafted corduroys will help you make sense of it all—one crisp pleat at a time. If they look a little familiar, it might be because these bad boys are the cold-weather version of the brand's smash-hit seasonal chino. Simply put, if you haven't worn anything but fleece for the last half year or so, these are the pants to turn to when you've given up on everything else.

They fit fucking perfectly.

All that aforementioned confusion? Tune it out. If you can only wear one style of pants this season (why though?!) you could do far worse than sticking exclusively to these. In a relaxed fit, and with a roomy leg that provides ample space for your gams to breathe, Alex Mill's cords offer a universally flattering silhouette that's comfortable but not sloppy, the easiest way to add a dose of casual elegance to your winter repertoire without visiting a tailor. Sans any hint of a break, they'll sit perfectly above damn near every shoe in your regular rotation.

The best way to rock them? Sub 'em in for sweatpants in any outfit you'd normally wear them with, flick yourself up for the 'gram, and then sit back and wait for those sweet, sweet double-taps to start rolling in.

They're a proper pair of pants.

Here it comes: the breathless reassurance that, yes, these pants are as comfortable as your favorite sweats. I'm not going to lie—they're probably not. They're not lined in fleece. They're not made out of french terry. They don't have an elastic waist. Instead, they've got an actual button you need to fasten to get them on and some newfangled doohickeys the brand refers to as "belt loops". They're made out of a sturdy, wide-wale corduroy. They are, in other words, a proper pair of pants. And—hear me out—that's not a bad thing! Because sometimes all it takes is a small sign of what used to be to remind you of how much you missed it. Call me an unfeeling monster, but miss proper pants, I did.

They come soft and will only get softer.

That being said, they're still soft. *Shrugs sheepishly* They are made out of corduroy, after all, which means even the staunchest sweatpant enthusiast would probably be uncomfortable designating them "hard pants" with a straight face. A few months ago, I might've rolled my eyes at anyone reaching for a pair of pants, no matter how handsome, that weren't of the species sweatpants familiarus. But now, stuck between a sweatpant and a soft place, I'm choosing the soft place every time—especially when the soft place is cropped, pleated, and costs a little over a hundred bucks.

The king is dead. Long live the king.
