Alex Drummond "Hasn't Even Tasted The Food" For Her Wedding This Weekend Because Ree Made All Of It
Alex Drummond is getting married this weekend! And though plenty of wedding-related details have been revealed over the past few months, we haven't learned too much about the spread. Now, though, we know mom Ree is definitely behind the menu for the big event and that she's made sure it's perfect.
The mother-daughter duo hosted a live Q&A for The Pioneer Woman Magazine talked all things wedding and, of course, that included what guests would be eating on the big day. When speaking on the event that will take place at their Oklahoma ranch this Saturday, Alex revealed she indeed gave her mom free reign over making the menu for her nuptials, and trust me, it's filled with good stuff.
"My mom has kind of been the mastermind behind the wedding menu honestly," the 23-year-old said on the live stream: "I haven't even tasted the food. My mom tasted it all for us."
Ree—who even had The Pioneer Woman Mercantile cater the special event—said Alex chose her for the task because she "loves food more than anyone."
So what does the menu actually look like? Ree is hooking her daughter's guests up with beef tenderloin filet as the main course, charred peppers and asparagus, and some good ol' mashed potatoes as one of the many side dishes. Guests can also look forward to a seven-cheese (yes, SEVEN!) creamy macaroni & cheese with caramelized onions.
While Ree had full control over the main menu (which will also include a variety of dipping sauces for that sure-to-be unforgettable beef tenderloin), Alex made it clear that she had a preference for the dessert. Choosing two wedding cakes from Amy Cakes in Oklahoma City, the bride-to-be will have a traditional cake—that features layers of half vanilla and strawberry cake topped with white icing and florals—and a groom's cake made of chocolate and shaped like a football jersey. The outdoor wedding will also include a late-night snack bar fully equipped with tacos and soon-to-be husband Mauricio Scott's only request—churros!
