Alessandra Ambrosio’s latest look was a sleek take on the cutout dress trend.

For Audi’s Celebration of Design party hosted at Nobu Malibu, the former Victoria’s Secret Angel wore a flowing green silk dress. The number featured billowing long sleeves, as well as a thigh-high slit and deep neckline. However, its most daring feature was a frontal cutout around a ring that connected the dress’ top and bottom. Angular side cutouts and two oval-shaped front cutouts allowed Ambrosio to beat the heat in style. She accessorized in bohemian fashion with a single gold earring with a green drop charm, a gold necklace and rings, and a woven handbag boasting a beaded handle.

When it came to shoes, Ambrosio stuck with her outfit’s bohemian theme in a pair of raffia sandals. The pair appeared to feature woven block heels totaling at least 4 inches in height, as well as matching peep toe straps. Both the the toe and ankle straps appeared to be lined with crystals, bringing the model’s look a boost of glamour — while also framing her bright green pedicure. Similar raffia styles have become popular this season due to their lightweight summer-worthy materials, from top labels like Valentino, Kate Spade and Bottega Veneta.

Ambrosio’s dress is the latest take on the cutout dress trend. Beginning at the start of the summer with Cult Gaia’s hit Serita dress, the style incorporates frontal and side cutouts in a range of hues and fabrics to stay ventilated in warmer weather while wearing more material. Since then, celebrities like Blake Lively, Vanessa Hudgens and Rita Ora have donned various styles from brands like Prabal Gurung, Patbo and Azzi & Osta throughout the season — cementing it as a fashion industry favorite.

Ambrosio wasn’t the only fashion-forward guest at last night’s Nobu Malibu event. Other attendees, like Laura Harrier and Ellen Pompeo, opted for numbers like a white knit halterneck dress or brown silk shirtdress to beat the heat in style.

This isn’t the only woven pair of stylish shoes Ambrosio has worn this season. In recent weeks, she’s been spotted in Chanel’s beach-ready espadrilles. In June, she also grabbed lunch in a pair of square-toed raffia mules by Bottega Veneta — one of the top styles of the summer.

Along with her former Angel title, Ambrosio has modeled in ad campaigns for brands like Schutz, Jordache, XTI Shoes and Swarovski. The model also launched her own swimwear line, Gal Floripa, in 2020 with her best friend Gisele Cória and sister Aline Ambrosio.

When it comes to shoes, the Brazilian personality can be found in a variety of looks, including sneakers by Common Projects, Gucci and Golden Goose. As a gym fanatic, chunky styles from brands like Asics, New Balance and Rick Owens x Veja are her go-to’s for workouts. When hitting events or the red carpet, she can be seen in sandals and pumps from top labels like Gianvito Rossi, Christian Louboutin and Giuseppe Zanotti. Her casual off-duty footwear also comes in the form of flip-flops, usually by Havaianas or eco-friendly brand Green Flip-Flops.
