Before making dinner tonight, you may want to take a look at your packaged veggies. Mann Packing is voluntarily recalling minimally processed vegetables due to fear they may be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes. While no illnesses have been reported, the recall is a result of a single positive test found on one product during random sampling by the Canadian Food Inspection Agency.

The recall includes packaged vegetable products sold by Archer Farms, HEB, Little Salad Bar, Mann, Signature Farms, Trader Joe's, Walmart, Cross Valley Farms and Sysco Natural. Affected products were sold through out the United States and have a "best if used by" date between October 11 and October 20. A full list of recalled products with their UPC codes can be found here.

"As an owner of this company and a mom, providing safe and healthy foods to our consumers and their families is always our top priority," said Gina Nucci, Director of Corporate Marketing at Mann Packing explained in a statement. "This voluntary recall is a reflection of our commitment to ensuring the safety of our consumers."

Consumers who have purchased these products can return them at their place of purchase for a full refund. If you have any questions, contact Mann Packing's 24-hour consumer line at 888-470-2681 or visit veggiesmadeeasy.com/products.

Jaclyn London, MS, RD, CDN, Nutrition Director at the Good Housekeeping Institute, says recalls like this serve as an important reminder to always clean your produce before eating.

"When it comes to food borne illness from Listeria monocytogenes, taking extra precaution to limit any exposure is key to staying in good health. Under the worst of circumstances, this type of contamination can lead to spontaneous miscarriage in pregnant women, so we applaud Mann's for their proactive recall. This serves as a good reminder to wash veggies and fruit thoroughly before any kind of prep or cook - safety first!"

If you have already eaten the products in question and are experiencing symptoms such as high fever, severe headache, stiffness, nausea, abdominal pain and/or diarrhea, you should notify your doctor immediately.
