Alert: Joe Jonas Casually Changed His Taylor Swift Lyrics Mid-Show

Not sure if you're aware (you are) but the Jonas Brothers are currently doing a Las Vegas residency and it looks like fans can expect some, erm, lyrical changes. Specifically in the part of "Much Better" that's a not-so-subtle reference to Taylor Swift's "Teardrops on My Guitar."

Reminder that the original lyrics to "Much Better" go "I got a rep for breaking hearts / Now I’m done with superstars / And all the tears on her guitar / I’m not bitter," but Just Jared reports that the lyrics were changed to “now I’m cool with superstars” during a performance on Saturday, June 4.

And naturally fans are excited that Taylor and Joe are friendly enough to warrant a lyric-change. As one person on Twitter put it:

"Joe Jonas performed Much Better for the first time in YEARS the other night and the lyric was changed from 'now I’m done with superstars' to 'now I’m cool with superstars' to show how he’s grown up and friends with Taylor Swift again and I can’t get over it."

Anyway, quick history lesson: Joe and Taylor dated from July to October 2008, a super brief relationship that also managed to be super dramatic. Mostly because Joe allegedly ended things over the phone, which Taylor called him out on during an Ellen appearance, saying “When I find that person who is right for me, he’ll be wonderful, and when I look at that person, I’m not even gonna be able to remember the boy who broke up with me over the phone in 25 seconds when I was 18.”

She also mentioned the breakup in her SNL monologue, saying “You might think I’d bring up Joe, that guy who broke up with me on the phone. But I’m not going to mention him in my monologue. Hey, Joe! I’m doing real well and I’m hosting SNL—but I’m not going to write about that in my monologue.”
