AppleTV's Lessons in Chemistry, which stars Brie Larson as chemist Elizabeth Zott, just dropped on October 13, and it's already become a huge hit.

The series, which is based on the novel (of the same name) by Bonnie Garmus, follows Elizabeth as she turns from retired chemist to a cooking show star. But to take it a step further, Lessons in Chemistry is also about a woman in the 1950s who uses her platform to be a voice for other women. The book was originally a piece of historical fiction, and Garmus said she took inspiration from her mother's generation, the author previously told The Guardian.

So far, the AppleTV show has been a huge success. Although only the first few episodes have been released, it's already earned an 81 percent rating on Rotten Tomatoes.
