It can be a terrible idea to follow your kid on social media. Just ask Alec Baldwin.
On Saturday, Baldwin's daughter, Ireland, posted a photo of herself on Instagram. In the photo, Ireland is seen riding a motorcycle in a bikini with cowboy boots on. Now, Ireland is a model, so this could very well be for a job — but that simply didn't matter to her dad.
Within moments of the photo making its way onto the internet, Baldwin wrote in the comments of the photo: "No. Just...no."
“This is who I am, take it or leave,” the model wrote in the comments of a photo in 2017. “I am not going to be body shamed for being pale or not stick thin. I’m not going to spend hours photoshopping my authenticity away. I’m not going to beat myself up for not looking like someone else. I’m not going to be told that I’m damaged goods because of my tattoos.”
In fact, just a day later, Ireland was back to posting bathing suit pics like a pro:
Both Alec and Ireland have remained open about their strained relationship. As you may recall, Alec once called Ireland a "rude little pig" in a voicemail when she was just 11 years old. The call happened as he and Ireland's mother, Kim Basinger, were going through a public divorce.
“It’s a scab that never heals cause it’s being picked at all the time by other people," Alec shared with Good Morning America in 2017, "My daughter, that’s hurt her in a permanent way."
But, at least they can joke and bond over social media now, right?
