Once again, Aldo has partnered with Mattel on a collection inspired by the iconic ‘90s Barbie Dreamhouse.
For their spring 2024 collection, the footwear brand has created a two-part collection that features footwear and accessories inspired by the iconic doll’s playset. The line pays homage to the trends of the ’90s with detailing like holographic materials and rhinestone embellishments.
Along with nostalgic accessories like translucent bags and cat-eye sunglasses, the limited-edition collection includes 12 footwear styles. The styles are crafted with Aldo’s signature Pillow Walk and Lightweight technology, making each pair comfortable and supportive.
The first part of the collection, the Barbie Dreamhouse Delights styles, features seven silhouettes dressed in white and pastel tones of blue and pink. The main piece from the line is an open-toe sandal, the Barbie Runway. The leather style features a light pink upper and a strappy design that wraps around the ankle and travels up the calf. Each strap is embellished with small rhinestone hearts. The set is completed by a stiletto heel that is lined by a glitter panel that faces the inside of the sole. The pair retails for $160.
The second part of the Barbie Pink & Denim Dreams collection includes five footwear styles. The silhouettes differentiate themselves from the first part, with rhinestones completely covering three styles, including the Barbie Malibu pump. The sparkling hot pink heels feature a pointed toe and Barbie’s signature logo against the side of the upper, matching the embroidered print along the footbed. The stiletto-heeled pair retails for $150.
The two brands collaborated for the first time last June on a 19-piece line that was inspired by the 2000s. The limited-edition collaboration came a month before the 2023 “Barbie” film was released in theaters.
The first part of the Aldo x Barbie spring 2024 collection will be released on May 16 while the second part will follow on June 6.
