What Is The Best Day To Shop At Aldi?

Aldi superfans like me know to be at the door first thing Wednesday morning! Not only is this when the Aldi Finds hit shelves every week but it's also when the weekly ad and sale prices take effect.

Want that chicken for $.99 per pound? Wednesday is your day, and the earlier the better because loyal shoppers like me don't waste any time!

How Does Aldi Keep Prices Low?

Aldi has been known for their everyday low prices for years, but if you aren't a regular shopper you might wonder just how they do it. Here are a few ways they keep their costs down, which helps them pass those savings onto customers.

• Shopping Cart "Rental" If there is one thing even non-Aldi shoppers know it is the need for a quarter to use a shopping cart. Why? So they don't need to pay employees to round them up! If you want your quarter back, you have to return that cart.

• In-House Brands A new Aldi shopper will notice quickly the lack of national brands. By carrying their own exclusive brands, Aldi skips the added cost of going through another company, saving them (and you) money.

• Buying Local Just like you save money buying from a local farmer, Aldi does the same thing with fresh meat. Their beef, pork and chicken prices can't be beat because they source from regional farmers, avoiding transportation costs.

• Smaller Store; Smaller Staff Aldi stores are designed to be smaller, making them space and energy-efficient. These smaller stores mean they only need to have a few staff members on each shift.

• BYO Bags Besides remembering a quarter for the cart, the other thing most people know about Aldi is you also need to come with your own shopping bags. While you are welcome to use empty boxes or purchase plastic or paper bags in-store, there will not be a carousel of them to pack your groceries into at the end of the conveyor belt.

Burger and fries night gets a major upgrade thanks to these garlic and cheese fries. These frozen potatoes are oven-ready, but could also be made in the air fryer. Pro Tip: I always bake my fries for a few extra minutes to help them get extra crispy. Available: 4/10

4. Specially Selected Everything Norwegian Crisp Bread $2.99

If you saw the picture and thought "Bread? It looks more like crackers!" Don't feel bad! This classic Norwegian bread is closer to what we'd call a cracker.
