Aldi Sells $3 High-Protein Ice Cream That's Just Like Halo Top

Aldi fans, be on the lookout for this tasty product the next time you’re in the freezer section. Famous for creating their own yummy versions of popular foods, Aldi has done it again. Their high-protein ice cream is just like Halo Top, but at almost half the price.

Part of their Sundae Shoppe brand of ice cream treats, Aldi’s version comes in three flavors: Vanilla bean, chocolate, and mint chip. And just like Halo Top, each pint is low on calories, but packed with protein. The vanilla bean flavor, for example, has just 240 calories, but 20 grams of protein. A pint of chocolate has a few more calories at 280, but a whopping 24 grams of protein, while mint chip has 280 calories and 20 grams of protein. Also like Halo Top, Aldi's version included milk protein concentrate on its list of ingredients (a concentrated milk product that's at least 40% protein), which is what helps each pint pack in so much protein.

Like Halo Top, if you’re planning to eat the whole pint (or always end up scraping the bottom with your spoon anyway), one of these pints is definitely healthier than some other options in the freezer section. But one of the biggest differences between Aldi’s Sundae Shoppe flavors and Halo Top is the price. While a pint of Halo Top can be up to $6 at some grocery stores, you can score all three of Aldi’s flavors for just $3.
