Aldi Is Selling $10 Colorful Footbed Sandals So Similar to Birkenstocks That Are 14x the Price

Birkenstock sandals are such a summer staple. There’s just something about their cork footbeds and warm weather that have us so desperate to own them. And they have so many different styles and colors now that you can even wear them to nicer events (depending on the style and occasion, of course). So it makes so much sense why retailers like Walmart and Target are selling lookalike sandals for a lower price. Aldi is the most recent to do this, dropping colorful footbed sandals next week that look like the more unique Birkenstocks that are 14 times the price.
For the last week of April, from April 24 through April 30, Aldi will sell the Serra Ladies Footbed Sandals in their Aldi Finds section. They have a tan footbed that’s molded “for extra comfort,” according to Aldi’s site. It says they’re made with leather material on the upper and insole areas, and each style has an adjustable buckle.

These Aldi footbed sandals come in Ladies' sizes 7-10 and four different colors and strap styles. The rose gold style has the classic two-strap design that Birkenstocks are known for. The top strap is in a smooth rose gold color while the bottom one is a slightly darker, textured rose gold strap.

The blue multi-design has three straps. There’s one around the toes and one near the ankle with the third, thinner strap diagonally connecting those two. They’re a suede-like material with varying shades of blue, from darker turquoise to a lighter mint green/blue.

Aldi’s sand design also has three straps: the top and bottom ones are braided and the middle one is smooth and has a buckle. The sand color is definitely more of a light orangey brown.

Lastly, the black footbed sandal design has the most straps. There’s one with a buckle near the ankle, a braided one at the very top, and two straps crisscrossing over the big toe. It sounds a little chaotic but it works and makes for a unique sandal. And again, even though these all have different styles on top of the shoe, they all have the same footbed. So you’re getting the same shoe across the board, it just depends on what style speaks to you more. Or you can get all four, we won’t judge.

As we said up top, Aldi’s footbed sandals do look similar to Birkenstocks in general style, but there are actual Birks that work with some of Aldi’s colorful designs. There’s the Arizona Soft Footbed Leather in Metallic Copper ($140) or the Arizona Birko-Flor Birkenstock, Copper ($110 on Zappos) that match the vibes of Aldi’s rose gold sandals. There are also the Franca Braided Oil Leather sandals in Biscay Bay ($135) that are very similar to the blue multi Aldi sandals in color and the sand ones in design. Nordstrom also sells the Franca Braided Slide Sandal ($135) in cognac and black and matches the sand and black Aldi footbeds nicely too.
If you’re in the mood for unique, fun footbed sandals, the Serra Footbed Sandals are definitely worth the trip to your local Aldi. The colorful styles and the low price of $10 are hard to beat, even with real-deal Birkenstocks.
