There's absolutely no shame in browsing the frozen aisle of the grocery store to pick up meals that are quick and easy to make when you're in a cooking rut. Aldi is always stocking their shelves with new items so you can mix up your dinner rotation, and coming later this month, the store is going to begin selling frozen Chicago-style deep dish pizzas if you want to try out the traditional meal at home.

Whether you've been to Chicago before or not, you probably know about the somewhat controversial staple food item from the city: their pizza. Chicago-style pizza typically has a crust that is a couple inches thick and then piles on the cheese, fillings like meat and veggies, and finishes it off with the sauce. Sometimes the topping are even assembled in that order. It may be strange to think about if you're used to a more regular slice, but it's a delicacy of sorts in the Illinois area and you gotta try everything at least once, right?

Around January 20, Aldi stores will begin selling a Chicago-style pizza by the brand Mama Cozzi's. It will come in a package frozen then just needs to be cooked thoroughly in the oven. The pizza will feature mozzarella cheese and tomato sauce inside a perfectly golden crust so you can have a taste of Chicago without having to hop on a plane. Perfect in times like these, TBH, and could maybe even be inspo for a DIY nationwide food tour at home. How do Philly cheesesteaks and Maine lobster rolls next sound?
