Aldi’s “So Freaking Good” $3 Frozen Dessert is Back
If you’re a frequent Aldi shopper, then you are probably well aware that it’s German week at the discount grocer: The shelves are stocked with all kinds of delicious German goodies. From classics like Bavarian soft pretzels to German-style red cabbage — there’s a lot of new stuff to try over at Aldi this week. But out of all of these treats, we can’t help but drool over one dessert that makes us want to run to the grocery store ASAP: apple strudel!
Now available in the frozen section at Aldi, you can pick up a box of Deutsche Küche Strudel for $3.29 for a box of two strudels. This dessert comes in two flavors: Fruits of the Forest Strudel made with apples and a selection of tart berries, and Apple Strudel filled with apples, raisins, and cinnamon. Each strudel is wrapped in a traditional German flaky puff pastry. They’re perfect for a dessert during date night at home! Just don’t forget to grab a carton of ice cream to pair with it. Or better yet, make your own no-churn ice cream.
Deutsche Küche Frozen Strudel
Strudel isn’t all Aldi’s German kitchen is celebrating. You can also buy Peanut Butter Puff snacks (shoppers rave about these!) as well as frozen pork and chicken schnitzel, and cheese spaetzle.
If chocolate dessert is more of your thing, you can grab boxes of Strawberry or Orange Jaffa Cakes, bags of Hazelnut Biscuits, boxes of shortbread cookies and chocolate wafers, and Doppel Keks and Doppelinos (sandwich cookies with chocolate in the middle). For more sweets in the frozen section, Indulgent Cakes are also an Aldi frequent favorite, and they come in two flavors: Donauwelle (a “snow white” cake with vanilla, chocolate, and tart cherries) and Bienenstich (a “bee sting” cake with caramelized almonds and vanilla).
