With budgets tighter than ever, many of us are now repairing certain household items rather than buying them brand new. To help, Aldi has teamed up with interior designer and TV personality Laurence Llewelyn-Bowen to launch a new Specialbuys range of upcycling products.

Starting at just £2.49, the new range will be available to preorder online from the 31st of July, with the products launching in stores across the UK from the 7th of August.

Laurence says: “It’s time for a craftnaissance to upcycle your home. I’m on a mission to bring maximalism back into your home, embracing the styles that make you, you. Feather your nest and become an upcycling extraordinaire rather than a DIY disaster with my collection of useful but beautiful creative essentials. Opulent fabric in my exclusive designs drawn by my own fair hand, delectable, printed sewing tins and a cornucopia of stamps and stencils to put your own stamp (pun intended!) on your maison… using the most modest budget perfect for today.”

Whether you’re looking to restore, repair, renew or stop tired homeware pieces from going to waste, you can do so on a budget without having to forfeit style, and with Laurence’s unique and flamboyant style at that.

As with all of Aldi’s Specialbuys, once they’re gone, they’re gone. So if any of the products catch your eye, you’ll want to grab them sooner rather than later and while stocks last in August and September.

Some of our top picks have to be the Sewing Essentials Tin (£6.99) which comes complete with everything you could possibly need to make quick repairs, such as a fabric-covered retractable measuring tape, seam ripper, thread, needles, snips and safety pins. It also comes in two hand-painted designs by Laurence; a decadent Flamingo and fun Paisley print.

His recycled cotton and velvet-style Fat Quarters (£9.99) come in packs of eight and are available in an array of different designs. Great for crafts including bunting, bags, quilts, bandanas and more, we’ll definitely be picking one of these up.

Bring a new lease of life to tired items of furniture with the range of Vinyl Rolls (£6.99) or add something special with his Stencil & Stamp Kit (£6.99).

You’ll also find DIY essentials like chalk paint, a handy glue gun assortment, brushes and a selection of different tapes, as part of the affordable range.
