Albert EL Fresco returning this Thursday in East Lansing

LANSING, Mich. (WLNS) — It’s officially spring, it’s warm, MSU students have graduated, and it’s time for the next big thing in East Lansing–the return of Albert EL Fresco.

The grand reopening of the pedestrian-friendly outdoor area in East Lansing will happen this coming Thursday, May 2.

Everyone is invited to the grand reopening on Thursday from 5-9 p.m.

Leading up to that event, parts of Albert Avenue will be closed starting Monday to make way for setting up the EL Fresco space.

“The footprint for this year’s Albert EL Fresco will focus on an expansion of the available seating areas, extending the activities throughout the downtown area including the 500 block and the plaza at the Marriott Hotel,” organizers said.

“The new layout will also enhance access to the stage at Ann Street Plaza, making that space more accessible.”

All downtown parking garages will be open during Albert EL Fresco season. For a live view of how many parking spaces are available in downtown Lansing, you can go here.

Albert EL Fresco is along Albert Avenue in East Lansing, between Abbot Road and M.A.C. Avenue.
