But thankfully TikTok user @allysonoverland, who is traveling across the country in her van with her dog by her side, showed us a glimpse into this beautiful small town. O.M.G. What?! How have we never heard about McCarthy, Alaska before? It's absolutely everything. We don't care if it takes hours and hours to travel by car down a dirt road because it's clearly very beautiful with views for days. And well, who wouldn't want to visit a town run by dogs?! It looks like heaven on Earth!

We love that most of the dogs are off-leash and so well-behaved. We mean come on, what other dog do you know that waits patiently outside a restaurant, politely asking for food? Our dogs could never! LOL! Our dogs could also never stay calm on a 60-mile dirt road. So we applaud this TikToker for embarking on the journey.

Even if we don't drive with our dogs on adventure roads like this one, we still take them in the car, as do most pet owners. And if that's you, you might want to consider following these tips on having a safe road trip with your dog. It's a good idea to get a full vet exam before taking off, fill any prescriptions, or get updated vaccines. You'll also want to print out your records for the road. Gather all their items like food, treats, water, first aid kit, toys, leash, and plenty of poop bags. Secure them safely into the seat and try to keep their routine as much as possible.
