Al Roker is going to have an exciting new job title soon: Grandpa! The 68-year-old beloved Today Show weatherman shared the wonderful news that his daughter Courtney, 36, is pregnant with her first child on Instagram on Wednesday, March 15th, just one day after she first shared the news that she and husband Wesley Laga are expecting on her own Instagram account on Tuesday, March 14th. Congratulations to the whole family!

Al Roker’s Daughter Reveals That She’s Pregnant With Her First Child On Instagram

Courtney’s Instagram post featured several pictures and video clips of her and her husband, who tied the knot in July 2021, including footage of the all-important sonogram. She captioned it, “A new adventure is about to begin,” followed by a red heart emoji and a baby bottle emoji. And you can bet that her proud father was one of the first to comment on the post, as the new arrival will no doubt be an exciting “new adventure” for the entire family!

“Here we go!!! So very very happy!!!!! You guys,” Roker wrote, which many people replied to with congratulatory messages. “Congrats Grandpa!” exclaimed one fan, while another added, “Congratulations! This will be one loved and spoiled grandchild,” followed by the two hearts emoji. “So happy for you and your family! You’re gonna be the best grandpa!” said another. “You’re going to be a Grandpa, nothing better than this, congratulations,” commented another well-wisher, followed by alternating blue and red heart emojis. Roker then seemingly clarified the term he wants his future grandchild to refer to him as, commenting: “Going for Pop-Pop.” Aww!

Al Roker Shares His Own Excitement On Instagram: ‘Could Not Be Happier’

We love what Roker said when he shared the news on his own Instagram too! “Could not be happier for these two,” he captioned the post, which was the same video Courtney shared one day prior. “Now begins the revenge of the Dad. Spoiling this kid rotten then handing the baby back. Hahahhahahahaha,” he added. And again, the comments section was flooded with congratulatory messages!

“This boo boo will have the best seat at the thanksgiving day parade, for-ever,” one fan commented. “Congratulations Al and family!! Being a grandparent is a feeling you can’t describe but in a few short months you will feel all the feels!!” wrote another, followed by two face with hearts emojis. “Congrats to you all!! You will be a great Pop Pop!!!” exclaimed another, followed by a red heart emoji. “Don’t forget the sugar you give so they are nice and hyper when they go back to their parents,” joked another. “Congrats PopPop,” wrote another, followed by a red heart emoji. “You think you can’t love anyone more than your kids and then you have a grandchild and your heart bursts with love! Can’t wait to see that ear to ear smile,” they added, followed by three more red heart emojis.

Great News Following Al Roker's Health Scare Last Year

This is the perfect news that Al and the entire Roker family have been waiting for, after his terrifying health scare at the end of last year. If you'll recall, Roker was hospitalized shortly after Thanksgiving due to blood clots that spread to his lungs. He stayed in hospital for over two weeks, and returned just one day after being discharged due to reported "complications," but was then able to return home and spend the holidays with his family. His Today family even surprised him at his home to sing Christmas carols to him while he was at home recovering.

Roker was very open with his fans throughout his health scare and keeping everyone updated on his recovery; and we have no doubt that he will continue to be open with them on his exciting new adventure as a grandpa!
