Al Roker Shares Sweet Photos From Daughter's Baby Shower: 'So Excited'
Al Roker is a proud dad and future grandpa.
The TODAY weatherman—who recently returned from hiatus following a second knee replacement—celebrated his daughter Courtney Roker Laga’s second wedding anniversary to husband Wesley Laga.
But it was a double-dose of celebrations as the duo are also preparing to welcome their first child together.
“2 years ago today, these two tied the knot,” Roker sweetly began in his Instagram caption on June 4, further highlighting, “Today we celebrated their about to be here baby girl. So excited."
Roker’s post began with a photo of his daughter and her husband from their wedding day, and it was quickly followed by recent shots of the couple, in addition to a shot of Courtney with her dad.
Considering Roker’s caption, it’s safe to say that the recent photos were taken during the couple’s baby shower.
Courtney opted for a hot pink long-sleeve dress with floral embellishments and side cutouts, while her husband kept it simple with a pink dress shirt and a navy blue tux.
Roker showed off his unique fashion style by donning a baby pink checkered shirt, a darker pink patterned blazer jacket, matching pink and blue sunnies, and a stylish fedora.
In the daddy-daughter shot, the on-air personality could be seen beaming with joy.
Courtney and her husband revealed they are expecting their first child, a girl, in a March Instagram post, which elicited a joyous comment from the grandpa-to-be.
Roker then revealed that he "didn't want to know" the sex of the baby, but it became too late once his daughter inadvertently let it slip out.
He also told his colleagues on air during a March 15 segment: "I’m going to be the best grandpa ever because I’m going to do whatever I can to spoil this kid.”
During the broadcast, he also revealed that he would try to get his future grandchild, who is due in July, to call him “Pop-Pop” in honor of his dad.
Al shares Courtney, who works as a recipe developer and culinary content creator, with ex-wife Alice Bell. He also has a daughter, Leila, 24, and a son, Nick, 20, with wife Deborah Roberts.
