Al Roker and the Rockefeller Christmas Tree are *bark* at it again.

Last year, the beloved Today show star and organizers of the famous conifer's sassy Twitter account @30RockTree got into a very festive and very punny tweet battle. Now, it looks like the two are reigniting their feud again mere hours before the tree lighting ceremony begins at 8 p.m. ET tonight on NBC.

This time, it was Al who started trouble. On Wednesday morning, the weatherman tweeted out a video of himself yelling at the unlit sapling, "Hey, @30RockTree — you and me, we're getting lit tonight, baby!" His tweet caption read, "Oh, it’s on @30RockTree. Pressure is on you tonight starting at 8pm ET ON @nbc with #christmasinrockefellercenter."

Of course, @30RockTree wasted no time responding to Al's posturing. "You're going to be reading about us on @PageSix tomorrow...," the tree shot back. Later on, @30RockTree came after Al again: "Do we really need another rehearsal? We're all good at what we do! Kelly Clarkson will make us fall in love. Dolly Parton will be the legend she is. I'll look really good. @alroker will...wait, what DOES he do? Boom. Show done. Now let me take a nap."

So far, no other jokes have been slung back and forth between the two — but if we had to guess, it's only a matter of time before the cringe-y tree puns start flying again. After all, last year's battle lasted several days. On December 2, 2019, @30RockTree joked that it had "paid that stick of butter to annoy @AlRoker on TV," referring to Al's viral moment while broadcasting the Macy's Thanksgiving parade. In response, Al tweeted back, "I am coming for you, thank you very mulch." From there, things just got crazier and crazier.

Safe to say, this year, like last, will end in Al and the tree becoming fronds — er, friends — once again. In 2019, Al seemingly surrendered and tipped his hat to the evergreen once its lights were turned on. "Hey @30RockTree looking pretty good tonight. Hope you had a good time. You look #lit," he tweeted at the time.

And so, until a spruce truce is reached again, keep refreshing those Twitter feeds. More corny *oaks* are *fir* sure on the way!
