Aja Naomi King Shares An Emotional Post About Loving Her Post-Pregnancy Bod
Aja Naomi King, 36, just shared unedited photos on Instagram in a new, emotional post.
The How to Get Away with Murder actress was open about learning to love her body after pregnancy.
Aja and her husband Dan King welcomed their first child on Sunday, after experiencing fertility struggles.
Lately, many celebs are speaking out about body positivity, including Lizzo, Lindsey Vonn, and Tess Holliday. Add to that list Aja Naomi King, 36, who just shared an emotional post about loving her post-pregnancy body on Instagram.
The How to Get Away with Murder actress explained some of her journey to self-love in the post's caption: "No, this is not a pregnancy Before picture. This is the After. After days of labor. After experiencing what felt like my insides being ripped apart, no lie. After experiencing the unimaginable beauty of childbirth, this is what is left behind. This Gorgeous Body!" she wrote.
"So in celebration of myself and my body for “Doing the Damn Thing”, I wanted to share this photo. No make-up, no editing, no filters (and you know I love a filter!)...Just Me...a woman in awe of her Body and her Baby! ♥️"
Friends were beyond supportive in the comments of Aja's post: "Ooooh I love you !😍," wrote Janelle Monae, while Eva Longoria seconded: "Agree! Grateful to our bodies!!!!!"
Gemma Chan and Yara Shahidi also commented: "Congrats and love to you all ❤️❤️❤️," Gemma wrote, while Yara simply left some "🥰🥰🥰" emojis.
Aja's husband, Dan King, also shared a baby photo on Sunday. In the post, the new dad is carrying his son in a blue sling. "Whoop there he is," Dan writes.
Aja has spoken publicly about her pregnancy struggles before, including her two miscarriages. "This is my beautiful little rainbow baby," she wrote in an older Instagram post. "I suffered two miscarriages and even now trying to capture what it felt like in words is simply absurd to me because I will never have language enough for it."
Scrolling through the new pictures, it looks like Aja is finally getting some rest and peace (she's literally glowing!). Congrats to the Kings on becoming parents!
