Air Force Mom Leaves Touching Note on Receipt After Paying for Stranger’s Breakfast

Heidi Goforth never would have guessed that a brush with a stranger at a fast food drive-thru would have left her heart so touched.

In a now-viral Facebook post, Goforth recalled what happened after she ordered food for her son at a McDonald’s drive-thru in Hermitage, Tennessee, over the weekend. It was a completely ordinary experience until she approached the window to pay, and the cashier explained that her bill had already been taken care up by the woman in front of her.

Goforth was handed a receipt which included a handwritten message from the mystery woman.

“My son’s in the Air Force,” the note began. “I can’t buy him breakfast, so I bought yours. Have a blessed day.”

“It touched my heart sooo much!” Goforth wrote alongside a photo (below) of the receipt she shared on the neighborhood Facebook Group, Hip Hermitage. “I pray that you see your son soon! He's lucky to have a mom that loves him so much! God bless you and him! Tell him thank you for his service.”

But the story doesn’t end there. Caryn Scherm Hill, a Facebook user who claims to be the Air Force mom, saw the post and replied.

“It was my pleasure. Kindness can create such a wave of emotion. How extra special that you were getting breakfast for your son!”
