Jar Jar Binks may finally be making his grand comeback, just not in the way you expect. Ahmed Best, who portrays the Gungan in the Star Wars prequel trilogy, has teased a return to the role in a new project, which may end up being the next Call of Duty game.

In a social media post on Instagram, Best shared a picture of himself in a motion capture suit hinting at the character’s return. “Just when I thought I was out, they pull me back in,” the actor said while using many Star Wars-related hashtags, including a surprising mention of Call of Duty publisher, Activision.

Best playfully referenced the famous Darth Jar Jar theory in the post, along with a hashtag for Kelleran Beq, his second role (live-action) in the Star Wars universe. Is it possible that he’s leaked an appearance from either Jar Jar or Beq in the next Call of Duty game? Possibly.

The closest possibility of seeing Jar Jar in a video game would be in this year’s Star Wars: Outlaws, followed by the next Star Wars Jedi game from Respawn Entertainment. While an official Call of Duty collaboration isn’t out of the realm of possibility, it would be pretty odd to include Jar Jar Binks as a headlining character before Luke, Darth Vader, or Obi-Wan. We don’t think that Activision would be down for a Darth Jar Jar game, no matter how ironically funny that would be.

Would the gaming fanbase accept Jar Jar though? While the character, and by extension the prequel films, has grown in popularity with a new generation of Star Wars fans, the character may still be a tough sell to the gaming community. Jar Jar previously appeared in the LEGO Star Wars games, which caters to a very different audience compared to Call of Duty. However they chose to slice it, I'll find it very entertaining to see Jar Jar destroying noobs in Call of Duty if that ends up being the case.
