Ahead of dropping new music, Ariana Grande has moved her iconic ponytail, and this is not a drill

Ariana Grande is making some serious moves this week. Yesterday, the singer returned from her social media hiatus to reveal a new single being released tomorrow called “No Tears Left to Cry,” and she also switched her look up in a very big way — for her. Yes, the queen of the high pony has debuted a *low pony* and it has left fans shook.

In a series of tweets earlier this week, the “Dangerous Woman” singer made her grand return, teasing her new single. First, she tweeted out a single teardrop, adding that she “missed” fans during her social media hiatus, before dropping the name of her new single — in upside down form because Grande is nothing if not *extra* in the best way.

The “Be Alright” singer also released the artwork for “No Tears Left to Cry,” which features her newish platinum locks in an even newer low pony. Now, if there’s one thing we know about Grande, it’s that she really commits to a look. Having spent years wearing her hair in a high pony — in either her signature half-up ‘do or a full pony — this look is a pretty big change for her.

Naturally, the singer’s new hair has left fans rattled.

Last fall, Grande made headlines when she changed up her look in another big way, trading in her brunette locks for a platinum blonde look. The singer had returned to her natural brown hair color after spending years as a bottle-redhead for her role as Cat on Nickelodeon series, Victorious. After revealing the major color change, Grande embarked on her social media hiatus, but her appearance at the March For Our Lives rally in D.C. made it clear the blonde locks are here to stay.

Ariana stans took to Twitter to fawn over the singer’s new look, with many calling the low pony a “new era” for the singer.

We’re so excited to see Ariana back to releasing new music and are even more excited to see what the “low pony” era brings.
