'AGT' Fans Are Excited After Howie Mandel Drops Major Career News

America’s Got Talent judge Howie Mandel is ready to discover the next star in his own homeland of Canada.

The 65-year-old Toronto native announced on Tuesday that he has officially joined the judges panel of Canada’s Got Talent, a spinoff of the U.S. version. The comedian will usher a new era for CGT, which had its first and only season back in 2012, and then had a mini revival during the early days of the coronavirus pandemic in 2020. Now, Howie will give his notes to hopefuls alongside other judges, including TV personality Lilly Singh, rapper and producer Kardinal Offishall, WWE star Trish Stratus and country music singer Lindsay Ell.

“Hey Canada, Howie Mandel here! I have an announcement,” he said in an Instagram video. “I’m going to be a judge on Canada’s Got Talent. There’s gotta be so many amazingly talented Canadians.”

Upon hearing this, Howie’s fans, namely those in Canada, immediately flooded his comments section to congratulate him on his new adventure.

“Awesome news Howie. [You’re] finally coming back home @howiemandel Canada absolutely loves and misses you,” one person wrote. “Oh my gosh Howie so awesome!!!!! 😄❤️❤️,” another added. “I’m so happy to hear this. 😍,” a different fan said. “Looking forward to seeing you back here my friend!!!!” a follower commented.

In early June, the Canadian television network CityTV revealed that the Canadian version of AGT was returning to the small screen. Got Talent franchise creator, executive producer and judge Simon Cowell also encouraged people to try out for the show.

“I have always known that Canada’s got talent. Now it’s turn to show the world,” he said on Instagram. “We cannot wait to see your talent.”

Likewise, we're thrilled for Howie and can't wait to see what he does on CGT!
