Despite many consumers’ notion of luxury being intrinsically connected to price, some of the most innovative and opulent fashion moments have come from celebrity styling teams pairing lavish designs with the market’s most affordable footwear. Styling couture gowns with heels priced under $100, these celebrities are redefining what it means to walk the red carpet.

Over the years, the Golden Globes has become a place for celebrities to experiment with affordable shoe styles in this way — from Kaley Cuoco‘s pairing a Vera Wang gown with $80 Charles and Keith PVC sandals to Lupita Nyong’o sporting a Calvin Klien dress with a pair of $90 Aldo sandals.
