It goes without saying that Aerin Lauder attends any number of glittering galas throughout the year, but she also loves to entertain lavishly at home. She grew up taking notes from her legendarily stylish grandmother, Estée Lauder, who was renowned for hosting fabulous, star-studded soirees, so now it’s only natural that Aerin’s name has become synonymous with beautiful tablescapes. IDEAL DINNER PARTY “It includes great company and delicious food. I like mixing people of different ages to keep the conversation interesting.”

MENU “I like to serve classic comfort food. It’s the best way to make sure that there’s something on the menu for everyone. Some of my favorites are roasted chicken, potatoes, and seasonal vegetables.”
SIGNATURE COCKTAIL “I love serving tequila in beautiful bottles that I have found during my travels.”
DESSERT “Chocolate soufflé with ice cream. That’s my favorite.”

HOSTING DO’S AND DON’TS “The most important thing to remember as a host is to be prepared and relaxed. Guests know when you’re stressed or worried. Entertaining should feel effortless, so as a host you can also enjoy the party. Even if everything is not perfect, it’s most important that guests feel welcome and comfortable.”
SEASONAL BOUQUET “Some of my favorite florals to use on any table are peonies, anemones, ranunculuses, roses, and orchids.”
BEST DINNER PARTY EVER? “My wedding was my first formal entertaining experience and one of my favorite events I have ever planned. It was traditional and elegant, with a romantic sensibility. There were tons of flowers, with beautiful vintage glass on the tables, and all of my closest friends and family were there.”
