While not officially called Amazon Prime Day 2, the idea is the same: A 48-hour sales event that offers deep discounts on thousands of items, ranging from home appliances and televisions to running shoes and video games.
How much is an Amazon Prime membership?
New Amazon Prime members can sign up for a free 30-day trial of the service, after which it will cost $14.99 a month or $139 per year. Students are eligible for a discounted rate after trial at $7.49 per month, while those who qualify for government assistance can pay $6.99 a month. Amazon Prime memberships can be shared among members of a household, though student and subsidized plans cannot.
