How Advance Denim’s Innovations Improve Breathability, Comfort

From the development of BigBox Dyeing, which saves more than 95 percent of the water needed to dye indigo, to making inventive denim that uses a mixture of “groundbreaking” technology and timeless indigo dye techniques, China’s Advance Denim “has strived to make the denim industry as sustainable as possible” since its inception in 1987.

Adding to these efforts, the denim mill consistently partners with “the most innovative fiber suppliers” to ensure it has the most sustainable ingredients in its denim, according to Mark Ix, director of North American marketing at Advance Denim. Good Earth Cotton’s regenerative cotton and carbon zero Tencel are examples of fibers that help Advance Denim lead with sustainability.

“Advance Denim is deeply rooted in its heritage as the first denim mill in China, but it’s also constantly looking toward the future,” said Ix. “We continue to invest in sustainability throughout the entire manufacturing process while also using our experience, vision and technology to bring our customers the latest solutions.”

Aircore and Travelite performance denim

On a mission to improve its technical innovations, Advance Denim launched Aircore and Travelite performance denim in August.

Aircore is a “cutting-edge fiber” that uses increased channels throughout the fibers that contact the wearers skin to promote both wicking and moisture management. Aircore also keeps wearers warm in the winter through trapped air in the multitude of channels.

“The unique hollow structure of Aircore creates a fabric that is light and airy,” said Ix. “Aircore Denim takes performance and comfort to a whole new level.”

Travelite is a functional packable jean that is powered by the soft comfortable breathability of Aircore performance denim. It creates the ideal travel pair of jeans that’s wrinkle-free, light, packable, soft, and keeps wearers warm and dry during any adventure.

At the recent ISPO trade show—the world’s largest trade fair for sporting goods and sportswear in Munich, Germany—both Aircore and Travelite received the coveted Top Ten Textrend Designation Award for Fall/Winter 2025/26.

“Advance Denim will continue to rely on its experience, technical expertise and vision to offer our customers the most cutting-edge denim styles that address the world’s changing needs,” said Ix. “Cutting-edge technologies and true vintage shades and constructions create the Future Vintage styles that are the foundation of Advance Denim.”
