Adult film star Sophia Leone has died at age 26.

According to family members, Leone was discovered "unresponsive" in her apartment in New Mexico on March 1. Police are reportedly investigating her cause of death.

Leone's stepfather, Mike Romero, organized a GoFundMe campaign in the wake of her death. As of writing, more than $10,700 of the $12,000 goal was raised.

“Sophia was a beloved Daughter, Sister, granddaughter, Niece, and Friend,” Romero wrote.“She had a deep love for all animals, specifically her 3 pets. She enjoyed traveling and always found ways to make everyone around her smile.”

His message continued: "As her Stepfather, I want to personally thank you for your kindness and generosity during this difficult time. Sophia will be deeply missed but her memory will live on in the hearts of all who loved her. May she rest in eternal peace."

Although the GoFundMe campaign did not note Leone's cause of death, Romero shared they were “Seeking Justice for Sophia.”

Los Angeles modeling agency 101 Modeling—which reportedly worked with the adult film star—noted on X (formerly Twitter), “To be clear, Sophia death is being investigated as a robbery and homicide."

On X, those who knew Leone reacted to her death and posted touching tributes.

Adult film star Dharma Jones shared, "RIP Sophia she was one of the 1st people I met in the industry when I was new. We were staying at the same model house & I was having trouble falling asleep because of anxiety. I remember we stayed up & talked all night. I’ll never forget her kindness."

Meanwhile, Sadie Pop, another adult film star, wrote, "Rip @OnlySophiaLeone she was the first person I ever talked to when I was starting the industry. She gave me so much advice and she was truly a friend."

Yet another industry colleague shared via X, "My heart breaks for Sophia, her family, and friends. She was such a beautiful girl and from the sentiments I’m reading from people she was just such a joy of a person to be around and a true light. It’s tragic to see all of this."
