Adriana Lima graced the red carpet recently and stunned many devotees with her chic black-and-red mini dress and sheer tights, but some fans found it difficult to identify her as she looked markedly “different.” Rumors of plastic surgery, a potential facelift, and purported fillers have led some to speculate about the reason for her “off-looking,” altered appearance.

On November 14th, the supermodel, 42, attended the Los Angeles premiere of The Hunger Games: The Ballad Of Songbirds & Snakes and posed for photos on the carpet in a striking two-toned ensemble. Soon after photos of her from the event were shared, users on X (formerly Twitter) began expressing that Lima didn’t “look like herself” and that her face made them “do a double take.”

After facing criticism and speculation about undergoing plastic surgery, the iconic Victoria’s Secret Angel resorted to Instagram to put an end to the rumors and address the discussions circulating about her physical appearance.

Adriana Lima Responds To Plastic Surgery Rumors After Viral Red Carpet Appearance

Lima uploaded a makeup-free selfie for her 16.8 million Instagram followers and captioned it: "This is the face of a tired mom of one teenage girl, two pre-teens, one active boy, a 1 year old learning to walk, and three dogs... thanks for your concern."

Prior to her reply, a few critics on X had made allegations that Lima had undergone cosmetic surgeries which had led to a "pillow face." Certain individuals on the social media platform had pointed out that this could be the outcome of an excessive use of facial fillers or transferred fat.

"OH NOOOOOO! What did she do to her face?! and WHY????? She was perfect before," one wrote as another added: "too many fillers?"

Others compared recent photos of the Brazilian style icon with pics of her from the early 2000s and mid 2010s to show why they thought she looked "so different" than ever before at the new Hunger Games film premiere.

"This is the face of plastic surgery" one tweeted as another added: "What happened to her face? Botox? Fillers? Hardly looks like her." Someone else replied: "'I would have had no idea that was the same person."

However, many defended Lima, noting that she "will always be beautiful" and still looked "gorgeous" at the premiere, despite what others may have expressed recently.

Some fans on Twitter also stressed that "motherhood can change" the way one looks, and that Lima looked "amazing" for someone who gave birth to three children.

Lima shares two daughters: Valentina, 14, and Sienna, 11, with her ex-husband Marko Jarić. In 2009, the couple exchanged vows and remained together for five years until they publicly disclosed their separation in 2014. The dissolution of their marriage was ultimately settled in 2016.

After ending her relationship with Jarić, Lima started a new romantic chapter with film producer Andre Lemmers in 2021. By February 2022, the couple revealed their pregnancy, culminating in the arrival of their son Cyan that August.

In 2020, Lima told Vogue India that becoming a mother has had a profound impact on her life, prompting her to occasionally put her beauty and self-care routines on hold in order to prioritize her children. As a result, her previous focus on appearance has undergone a significant shift.

"As my two daughters have gotten older, I've realized that they copy a lot of what I do and my habits, and it's important for me to make sure they're copying good ones," she also told the outlet. She added that she lets them "experiment with my makeup, masks and creams."

Lima went on: "I try to teach them to love the skin they're in and eat healthily for their bodies and to also practice positive mental wellness through meditation."
