These Adorable Graduation Caps Will Earn You An A+

Graduation, whether from preschool or a PhD program, requires celebrations and, of course, all of the festive snacks. Here at Delish, we have tons of graduation cake ideas and recipes for all of the savory snacks too. No-bake or no-cook treats, like our no-bake blackberry cheesecake bars, peanut butter and chocolate buckeyes, puppy chow, and Funfetti dip are all great make-ahead treats for any graduation party. Before you put out the festive napkins or greet guests, you should make these quick, easy, totally no-cook sweet little candy graduation caps too. Here’s a few fun ways to customize these treats:

Lean into the caramel:
You can use caramel-filled chocolate squares for the mortarboard tops. Just press them very gently onto the Rolo base so they don’t crack and lose their sweet filling. (Do we speak from personal experience? Perhaps. Perhaps we do.) Top each square with a caramel M&M and sprinkle with a little bit of flaky sea salt.

Choose team peanut butter:
Pair a peanut butter cup base and plain chocolate square with either a peanut butter M&M or a carefully halved peanut M&M. Will your guests go nuts for these treats? They will.

Showcase your school colors:
Use a white chocolate square for the top and decorate with edible glitter, or use colorful candy melts and shallow, square molds to make your own custom squares.

Storage:
While these are best made the day of, you can fully assemble them, store in an airtight container, and refrigerate for up to 2 days for any and all of your party-planning needs.

    (7-oz.) tube chocolate cookie icing

    bittersweet chocolate squares

  • 4

    ropes of pull-apart licorice

  2. Meanwhile, separate licorice ropes into individual strands, then cut each in half crosswise.

  3. Place a dot of icing in the center of each square, then top with one M&M. Wrap one piece of licorice around M&M, like a scarf, pressing 2 licorice pieces together around the M&M. Refrigerate until icing is set, about 10 minutes more.
