  • Chief meteorologist Paul Dellegatto welcomed an unexpected guest during his weather forecasting segment on April 16th.

  • Paul's golden retriever, Brody, interrupted the broadcast and adorably stole the show.

We all know working from home can be challenging—especially when you have two- or four-legged creatures demanding your attention. That was certainly the case for Paul Dellegatto, a chief meteorologist at FOX 13 in Tampa Bay, Florida, as he tried to do a straightforward weather report on April 16th from his home office.

First, perhaps in a cry for a chin rub, his sweet golden retriever Brody whacks Paul's computer with his head, freezing the weather maps and causing the graphics to stop working. Ruh-roh.

Ever the professional, Paul keeps going on with the segment, but Brody is not satisfied, hopping into Paul's lap as Paul proceeds to do his job while Brody mugs for the camera and shows us all what a star he really is. At one point, Brody gives a big yawn—What, Brody, mid-80s temps bore you?—and Paul jokingly says,"Didn't mean to keep you up."

But Brody's star turn is not yet over. Just as Brody hops down and we think Paul can get back to business, Brody notices cameraman Craig out the window on the porch, and that's when Brody goes crazy trying to find Craig who is concealed behind a blanket they had been using to temper the reflection of the lighting.

Two key learnings from this whole thing: 1) More weather reports, particularly rainy ones, should include dogs and 2) Brody and kindred spirit/fellow interrupting weather "fur"-caster Maple would get along swimmingly. Back to you, Bob.
