The Adidas x Fear of God Athletics Basketball Sneaker Is Dropping in Snowy White on Christmas Day

Following the long-awaited launch of the Adidas x Fear of God Athletics collection earlier this month, a new colorway for the Basketball sneaker will ensure every one gets a white Christmas.

The snowy color scheme sees the entire sneaker dressed in white, save for a black embossed Fear of God logo on the heel. Featuring a mid-top cut, the knit upper is paired with a neoprene collar for a snug and comy fit. TPU overlays forming a Three Stripes motif inspired by Adidas‘ Predator soccer cleats help lock in the foot, while the lace system uses a toggle for quick fasthening. Down low, Lightstrike foam is hosted inside a translucent sole unit.
For as much hype built up over the years-long wait for Fear of God’s partnership with Adidas, the debut collection wasn’t subject to an immediate sell-out. Many of the sneakers from the initial assortment are still available in select sizes, which could be in part due to the high price tag. The Basketball sneaker also bears some resemblance to the Nike Fear of God 1, which launched in 2018 before the brand decamped for Adidas.
In an interview with WWD, Fear of God founder Jerry Lorenzo said: “Everything we’re doing is trying to create a new way for people to aspire to sport, after Jordan, at that level. I think there is a new way to aspire to be a part of something and I don’t know that it has to be tied to the best athlete.”
The Adidas x Fear of God Athletics Basketball sneaker will release Dec. 25 through Fear of God’s website. Pricing should be the same $250 as the other colorways released thus far.
