Adele Shared a Never-Before-Seen Video of Nicole Richie Scaring the Bejeezus Out of Her

Today, in beautiful friendships we are glad exist: Adele and Nicole Richie.

On September 26, Adele shared a belated birthday tribute for Nicole Richie on Instagram, including photos of the pair and an amazing video of Richie scaring the hell out of the “Hello” singer.

“Happy belated birthday to my daily dose of grace @nicolerichie,” Adele wrote in the post’s heartfelt caption. “I admire you and love you so much. You are the epitome of self preservation, self love and absolute savagery! You are so so cherished by so many angel girl! Keep making us laugh babes, we adore you to the moon and back.”

In the clip, the House of Harlow 1960 founder is seen crouched down in the kitchen waiting for Adele to walk in. When she does, Richie screams “Boo!”

Of course, Adele jumps and yells in fear before laughing and bending over to hug her friend. As she walks away, Adele mutters, “For fuck’s sake!"

Along with the hilarious video and sweet tribute, the singer also shared a collection of photos with Richie, including a snap of them posing with a giraffe and a quarantine selfie featuring Richie behind a window. We love safe queens.

Adele’s Instagram post offered fans a rare glimpse of her close friendship with Richie, who is one of the many celebrities in her inner circle. Her other A-list confidants include  Jennifer Lawrence, Emma Stone, Harry Styles, Taylor Swift, and of course, Meghan Markle and Prince Harry, whom she reportedly befriended when they moved to Los Angeles.

The singer is also known for using Instagram to give fans an update on her music as fans patiently(ish) wait for new heartwrenching ballads (it’s been five years since 25 dropped). Back in June, fans were convinced a throwback pic from 2016 was a hint that her fourth studio album was on its way. However, the singer made sure to debunk that rumor after a fan wrote, “Teaser? Albums coming out today???!!!! Tell me now!!!!”

“Of course it’s not,” Adele replied. “Corona ain’t over. I’m quarantining. Wear a mask and be patient.”

Wise, wise words. If only we could figure out how to become friends with Adele.
