Adele looks unrecognisable with new jet-black hair

While Adele may surprise us now and again with a new hairstyle – like a fringe haircut or poker-straight strands – we've never had to do a bigger double-take than over the Halloween weekend when the singer stepped out at her Las Vegas show with jet-black hair. When we say she looks unrecognisable, we mean it.

If there's one thing certain in this life it's that Adele is a blonde; it's just a fact. While we may have seen her veer into bronde or even brunette in her OG Chasing Pavements era, this is definitely the darkest we've ever seen her hair. Just take a look:

It seems the new hair transformation was in honour of the spooky season (AKA, Halloween), as the singer dressed up as Wednesday's beloved mum, Morticia Addams. The resemblance is pretty uncanny if you ask us.

The long dark black hair was paired with Mortitia's signature smokey eye, created by Adele's go-to makeup artist Anthony H. Nguyen, while the credit for the dark tresses belongs to hairstylist Sami Knight. Well done glam squad, this look is one for the spellbooks.

Now, we must caveat that this new black hair is most likely a wig (what's Halloween without a few wigs?), but we can't un-see the Mortitia resemblance. Neither can her followers either, as comments flooded with praise:

Even the Wednesday Neftlix account commented "Mother 🖤", while some fans likened Adele to another famous singer, Cher.

Wig or not, we're just happy to have seen Adele experiment with the dark side.
