Adele just posted a sweet tribute to her longtime friend Nicole Richie for her 39th birthday, which was Sunday. In the Instagram post, Adele shared a number of photos of the two over the years, including a holiday-themed pic, a photo of them posing with a giraffe, and some stunning glam photos from various events.

Adele also shared a hilarious video in which Nicole surprised her by hiding behind a kitchen counter. The "Hello" singer had no idea her friend was in the kitchen, so when Nicole jumped, Adele shouted, and then tackled her friend in laughter.

After recovering from the shock, Adele quietly said, "For f*ck's sake," before walking off camera. It seems like the star had no hard feelings, though.

"Happy belated birthday to my daily dose of grace @nicolerichie I admire you and love you so much," Adele wrote in the caption. "You are the epitome of self preservation, self love and absolute savagery! You are so so cherished by so many angel girl! Keep making us laugh babes, we adore you to the moon and back ♥️."

Fans couldn't get over the sweet post. "Wow this friendship just made my year better ♥️," one person commented, while another person jokingly said, "Imagine Adele doing a happy birthday insta for you."

Others, like clockwork, asked the singer when her new music is coming out. Everyone has been (not so patiently) waiting for her upcoming album to be released since the star promised fans she was releasing her new album in 2020. Adele hasn't put out new music since the release of 25 five years ago.

"Am I the ONLY one waiting for her to make her EPIC and ICONIC comeback!?!?!?💕," one fan commented. "Where's the album queen?"

Adele's manager Jonathon Dickins told Music Week that the release of the album is delayed indefinitely, even though many thought it would come out in September. "It'll be ready when it's ready," Dickins said.

In an Instagram post from August, a fan asked Adele when her new album would be released, and she replied, "I honestly have no idea," People reported. So, it looks like we'll have to wait and see!
