Adele says she feels "terrible" about how her weight loss — and the response to it — made some young fans feel like their own bodies weren't good enough.

“I felt terrible for some people that felt like other people’s comments meant that they weren’t looking good or that they weren’t beautiful,” the singer said in an interview for the BBC radio program Desert Island Discs on Saturday.

“Some of the ones I saw were young, they were like 15," she continued. "And there were some other people who felt very betrayed by me, being like, ‘Oh, she’s given into the pressure of it.' Which didn’t really bother me because you aren’t holding my hand at 4 a.m. when I’m crying my heart out with anxiety and needing a distraction.”

The British star has been open about the effect working out has had on her mental health amid her split from ex-husband Simon Konecki, which she has previously said "f***ing devastated" her. The former couple's divorce was finalized last year.

The Grammy winner acknowledged to host Lauren Laverne that her fitness regimen "100% ... gave me focus, it gave me somewhere to get rid of my energy — good or bad — and it made me feel like I was getting stronger mentally by getting stronger physically."

That echoes remarks the 34-year-old made to Vogue last fall about using fitness to help her heal after her separation from Konecki.

"It became my time," she told the magazine of hitting the gym. "I realized that when I was working out, I didn’t have any anxiety. It was never about losing weight. I thought, If I can make my body physically strong, and I can feel that and see that, then maybe one day I can make my emotions and my mind physically strong.”

The "Hello" singer has also explained that she kept her weight loss journey out of the public eye because she "did it for myself and not anyone else," she told British Vogue.

Speaking on Desert Island Discs, she said, "I didn't share my journey in the way that everyone else does," noting that "most other people would have a DVD out by now."
