  • Singer Adele recently purchased the L.A. mansion once owned by Sylvester Stallone.

  • Amongst Stallone's decor was a Rocky statue overlooking the pool.

  • Stallone had planned to take it with him, but Adele insisted it stays at the mansion.

If there's one thing folks know about Sylvester Stallone, it's that he has a lot of memorabilia from his acting career—so much so that he helped launch an entire restaurant chain just to fill it with remnants of the many movies in his filmography (including a plethora of naked Stallone statues from Demolition Man that you can buy now).

Perhaps the most famous piece of Sly iconography is the Rocky statue. While Rocky Balboa debuted in 1976's Best Picture-winning Rocky, the now-famous sculpture was created for Rocky III as a symbol of the success that was both a blessing and a curse for the titular character. A version of that statue remains in Philadelphia today, near the famous flight of stairs Rocky climbs in his training montage.

But as it turns out, a Rocky statue is also situated at the Los Angeles mansion formerly owned by Stallone, overlooking the pool. And according to CNN, Stallone had planned to take the figure with him when he moved, but the home's new buyer had other ideas. That buyer? None other than Grammy- and Oscar-winner Adele.

The singer is reportedly planning a total renovation of the mansion she purchased. "I like what she's doing," Stallone said of the redesign. "She's making it gorgeous."

What he likes a bit less is the one thing from the house that she's keeping as is—that's right, the statue overlooking the pool.

The news outlet notes that Stallone, in an interview with the Wall Street Journal, acknowledged that he initially wanted to keep the statue, but Adele had her eyes on it from the beginning. "But she said, 'That's a no deal. That's gonna blow the whole deal,'" he seemingly joked of the statue. "She wanted the statue."

Sly ultimately was willing to let go of the statue and gift it to the Grammy winner. Besides, he's probably still got plenty of memorabilia from his other films that he can decorate his home with. There's perhaps not a huge demand for, like, the card table from Shade or a shank from Lock Up.
