Adele Adapted Her Lifestyle to Better Balance Her Career and Motherhood

  • Adele changed her lifestyle to reportedly better manage the stress of work and home life.

  • "She wanted to find a way to balance things better," a source told People.

  • The singer has a seven-year-old son, whom she shares with ex Simon Konecki.

Superstars are no strangers to stress, and for singer Adele, managing hers meant embracing a cleaner lifestyle for the sake of her career and family.

According to People, the Grammy winner focused on improving her health over the last few years in order to better manage her stress while simultaneously navigating her career and parenting her seven-year-old son, Angelo Adkins.

"In the past, the stress from balancing work and being a mom was intense," a friend of the singer said. "She wanted to find a way to balance things better."

Reportedly, the singer is now in a "very good place"—physically and mentally—due to following a personalized regimen.

"She quit smoking, reduced her drinking, got rid of sugar and stopped eating processed foods. She made healthier food choices and is training regularly," said the singer's former trainer, Pete Geracimo. "I got called every name under the sun by her [while working together]. But to her credit, she always came ready and worked out hard."

After Adele posted new birthday photos on Instagram last week, the post sparked a discussion over the singer's physical transformation. While some Twitter users applauded the musician's figure and praised how stunning she looked in new Instagram photos, others called out public fascination with her weight loss and declared the singer didn't need to lose weight to justify her beauty.

A source told People earlier this year that the singer merely wanted to feel happy and healthy as she gears up to release new music later this year.

"It's easy to just focus on her physical transformation, but this is really about something bigger," a source close to Adele said. "It was never about losing weight. Her weight loss happened because she has cut down drinking and is eating more real food. But she now loves her physical transformation too. She is more confident, dresses differently and she just seems happier overall."

Though Adele's recent lifestyle changes have been a trending topic in recent weeks on social media, the "Hello" singer is apparently not paying any attention to Internet fodder.

"She looks like a different person, but she's the same cool chick who will tell you to f— off if you try and second-guess her," said another source. "She is happy and fulfilled."
