Less than three months after a massive recall on air fryers, another company is pulling the appliance from shelves due to potential burn risks. According to a release by Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), Insignia is recalling approximately 287,300 air fryers sold in the U.S. and Canada.

This recall involves Insignia Air Fryers and Insignia Air Fryer Ovens under the following model numbers: NS-AF34D2, NS-AF5DSS2, NS-AF5MSS2, NS-AF8DBD2, NS-AF10DBK2, and NS-AF10DSS2. The air fryers and air fryer ovens have cooking chamber capacities ranging from about 3.4 to 10 quarts.

The air fryers included in the recall can overheat, causing the handles to melt or break, posing fire and burn hazards. Additionally, the ovens can overheat and the glass on the door can shatter, posing fire, burn, and laceration risks, CPSC reports.

While there have been no injuries to date, Insignia has received 24 reports of overheating and overmelting or glass shattering. Additionally, there have been six reports of the air fryers catching on fire.

The air fryers and ovens were sold at Best Buy stores nationwide and online from November 2021 through November 2023. If you own one of the recalled products, CPSC is encouraging consumers to immediately stop using the recalled air fryers and air fryer ovens.
