Serving us a healthy dose of nostalgia on a weekly basis, Addison Rae has proved over and over again that she's a fashion and beauty powerhouse who's bringing back all of the Y2K trends. Seriously — her first starring movie role in He's All That is a remake of 1999's She's All That and she recently got the 2000s celebrity doll treatment. What could be more noughties than that? Mmm, definitely her new fave hair accessory, spandex headbands.

Retro offerings are plentiful and popular with our TikTok queen, who's been spotted wearing everything from a punk rock chain and leather choker to a beaded zebra print, '00s style string bikini. And let's not forget that her foray into the beauty realm has been chock-full of Y2K references. Addison brought back the first popularized in the '70s with a comeback in the '90s, mood-changing (aka leuco dyed packaging that changes color with temp changes) bottles for her perfume brand, Addison Rae Fragrances. Even her viral (and often sold out) Lip Quips from Item Beauty give off noughties vibes, with a glassy lip gloss formula that's so good, even Lil Mama would say "It's poppin'."

Just like her recent dice-themed nail art, this beauty look is super easy to recreate at home — and it only costs a couple of bucks. Hairstylist Kiley Fitzgerald styled Addison's locks into mermaid waves to pair with the spandex hairband, but you could wear your hair in any style. Addison used the white accessory that matched her ruffled party dress in the third picture to pull back her fringe entirely. To give off a carefree vibe, Rae let some strands from the crown of her head spill forward over the band.

If you're wondering when was the last time we saw spandex stretch headbands, take a look back at The Cheetah Girls film from 2003:

Give it a few more weeks, and we'll be seeing vibrant, bedazzled, and printed variations of Addison's headband. But until then, shop the under $5, cool-girl hair accessory while its still in stock.
