From Town & Country

After successfully bringing Agatha Christie's Ordeal by Innocence and The ABC Murders to the small screen, the BBC and Amazon Prime Studios are once again teaming up to adapt a beloved Christie novel-this time, The Pale Horse. Here's what we know so far.

BAFTA-nominated writer Sarah Phelps is onboard to pen the script.

Phelps had previously written the screenplays for both Ordeal by Innocence and The ABC Murders-so she's more than familiar with Christie's oeuvre.

"This new drama allows writer Sarah Phelps to continue her exploration of the 20th century through Christie’s stories, with the book’s fantastic, foreboding atmosphere completely suited to Sarah’s unique style of adaptation," said James Pritchard, head of Agatha Christie Limited, and Christie's great-grandson, per the Hollywood Reporter.

There will be plenty of mystery.

According to executive producer Helen Ziegler, in The Pale Horse, "the rational world and dark supernatural forces seem to collide. Asking the question, 'how far would you go to protect your own happiness?' It’s a tale of guilt, terror and witchcraft which we hope will delight and terrify viewers in equal measure!"

It's only two parts.

The miniseries version of The Pale Horse will consist of just two episodes-and fans can be assured that the plot won't be over-stretched.

Details on a release date are scarce.

Christie fans will have to wait to learn more about when The Pale Horse is expected to debut. But in the meantime, there are two Phelps-written Christie shows waiting to be watched on Amazon Prime.
