They’re the leads of the new Netflix film You’re So Not Invited To My Bat Mitzvah and Adam Sandler’s kids are rising stars. The Uncut Gems star’s whole family is featured in the new coming-of-age flick that is based on the 2005 Fiona Rosenbloom novel of the same name.

Just this year, Sandler called his daughters the “two of the true best things” in his life when he accepted the 2023 Mark Twain Prize. “They are the love of our lives. The most pride and joy that Jackie and I could ever feel. The life changers,” he said in his speech. “When they speak, we either laugh, tear up, or stare at them in amazement. I’m only wishing time will stand still cause being with you two and mommy is the best life can get.”

His daughters have appeared in his movies such as Bedtime Stories, Grown Ups, Blended, and Murder Mystery, but they have the desire to be movie stars themselves. “I hear sometimes in the house, ‘I wanna be in a movie’ and I say, ‘You are, you were in this, this and this’ and they go, ‘Not yours.’ I go, ‘Oh, Daddy’s not good enough!’ ” the Billy Madison actor said on The Drew Barrymore Show. “They wanna do their own thing one day.”

You’re So Not Invited To My Bat Mitzvah is produced by Sandler’s production company Happy Madison Productions. While the whole family is in the film, Idina Menzel plays Adam Sandler’s character’s wife in the film. His actual wife is also in the movie but as the main character’s best friend’s mom. “It was the best,” director Sammi Cohen told Netflix Tudum. “The Sandlers made me part of the family. It was this really beautiful thing where everyone had space to do their own thing, but always had support when they needed it. There’s a natural chemistry you get with the Sandlers that makes everything feel real and slice-of-life. What was really special to watch was how the movie mirrored real life. Right before filming, Sunny had her actual bat mitzvah. It was a big coming-of-age moment for everyone. And filming the movie felt like a continuation of that.”

Sadie Sandler is Adam Sandler and Jackie Sandler’s first child born on May 6, 2006.

Sandler told Access Hollywood about his epiphany as a father when his firstborn was born. “When my kid was born, I was so nervous. I didn’t know what I felt. Five minutes later, maybe 10 minutes later, it was me and the kid and a nurse. We walked down alone to just check the vital signs and all that stuff, and I had a chemical reaction in my body, where I loved the kid so much, and I was so nervous for her, and that’s when I lost my mind for the kid.”

“So, it took 10 minutes to become a good dad,” he added. “For the first 10 minutes, I was just lost.”

Sadie went on to go on films with her father like You Don’t Mess with the Zohan and was the first to break the news that Adam will be a daddy to two. He recalled on Live with Regis and Kelly, “I came home at night and [Jackie] kept saying ‘Sadie wants to give you a present,’ and normally Sadie falls asleep around 8. It was like quarter of 9 and I just got back from working.

He continued, “And then Sadie hands me a little something, like a gift. And I was ‘Aww, that’s nice Sadie, thank you.’ And then Jackie kept saying ‘Open it up, open it up.’ And I open it up and it was one of those pregnancy [tests] and I was like ‘Woowww.’”

Adam also talked about his daughter’s crushes on the Ellen DeGeneres Show who was 12-years-old at the time. “You know, I drive around with [her and] her friends, and I hear them talking about boys now,” he said. “It’s amazing, the feelings I had about the same boys five years ago. When they would mention the kid’s name, I’d be like, ‘I love that kid.’ Now, I get very jumpy.” Adam admitted that he now feared boys with “little tiny mustaches” and bodies that “aren’t making much sense.”

At Sadie’s Bat Mitzvah, Adam invited Adam Levine from Maroon 5 to play some songs for his daughter. “Oh, she hugged me so much, my Sadie,” he told Jimmy Kimmel about the outcome of the performance.

Jennifer Aniston was invited to the ceremony, but couldn’t attend, “She had stuff going on, so she sent a gift. “One of the best gifts Sadie received out of everybody,” Adam recounted.

“What was it?” Kimmel asked.

“$1.8 million dollars. We couldn’t believe it, and Sadie blew it,” he laughed.

Sunny Sandler is Adam Sandler and Jackie Sandler’s second daughter and was born on November 2, 2008. She plays the lead Stacy Friedman in You’re So Not Invited To My Bat Mitzvah.

As well as having cameos in her father’s films like Grown UpsBlended and Murder Mystery, Sadie has quite a talent for singing as she sang “A Million Dreams” from The Greatest Showman with her father. At a charity event, Sadie joined Adam in singing a rendition of Taylor Swift’s “Lover,” which the comedian described as “one of their favorite songs.”

“We’re gonna sing a song! They’ve been so excited and nervous, but we’re gonna sing a song,” Adam told the crowd at one of his shows. “They saw Taylor Swift last night, we were at Saturday Night Live. That was a big night, man. Taylor Swift — holy s—.”

At her Bat Mitzvah which was held months before filming the Netflix film, many of her dad’s co-stars attended including Jennifer Aniston and Taylor Lautner, as well as performances from Charlie Puth and Halsey. Halsey recalled the extravagant party, “First of all, it was the craziest bat mitzvah I’ve ever seen in my life,” the singer told Jimmy Fallon. “As you would expect from Adam Sandler. It was like… I mean, it was like Coachella.”
