Adam Sandler digs into his emotional side for Netflix's new film Spaceman.

The upcoming sci-fi receives its official trailer and is set to premiere at the Berlin Film Festival next month. Directed by Johan Renck, who helmed the HBO miniseries Chernobyl, the film is based on Czech author Jaroslav Kalfař's 2017 novel, Spaceman of Bohemia. In the official synopsis of the film, it reads, "Six months into a solitary research mission to the edge of the solar system, an astronaut, Jakub (Adam Sandler), realizes that the marriage he left behind might not be waiting for him when he returns to Earth. Desperate to fix things with his wife, Lenka (Carey Mulligan), he is helped by a mysterious creature from the beginning of time he finds hiding in the bowels of his ship. Hanuš (voiced by Paul Dano) works with Jakub to make sense of what went wrong before it is too late."

The trailer shows Sandler's character Jakub on the 189th day of his solo space mission. He struggles to cope with being in solitary and when he meets Dano's giant spider-like creature he admits, "I'm losing my mind." Seemingly taking assistance from the talking spider, Jakub tries to cope with his "emotional distress" of being away from his wife. Producers include Channing Tatum, Reid Carolin, Peter Kiernan, Michael Parets, Tim Headington, Lia Buman and Max Silva. Executive producers are Ben Ormand, Johan Renck and Barry Bernardi.
