Adam Levine's Goodbye Note To 'The Voice' And Blake Shelton Will Make You Ugly Cry
Adam Levine is leaving The Voice after 16 seasons.
The Maroon 5 singer opened up about his exit in a candid Instagram post.
Adam Levine’s decision to leave The Voice after 16 seasons has shocked everyone from longtime fans to his best frenemy Blake Shelton. There are many reasons why the Maroon 5 singer has decided to part ways with the NBC reality show, but Adam has made it abundantly clear that he’s grateful for his many years as a coach.
In a candid post on Instagram, Adam opened up about his journey on The Voice and the many, many cast and crew members who helped him get there. “We had no idea what we were doing or where it was going. After the first day of shooting, I sat there, stunned. I said to myself ‘theres some magic here. Something is definitely happening,’” he wrote. “It went on to be a life shaping experience that will be close to my heart forever.”

He continued to thank people like producer Mark Burnett; Paul Mirkovich and the rest of the band; and even the network as a whole. “I am truly honored to have been a part of something I’ll always cherish for the rest of my life,” he wrote.
Adam’s most emotional callouts, though, were to his fellow coaches. He mentioned the current lineup of Kelly Clarkson and John Legend, but also referenced past pros like Christina Aguilera. And, of course, he had to give a shout-out to host Carson Daly.
“Thank you to every single coach I ever sat in those chairs with. That is shared experience that is singularly ours. We have that for life,” he added. “Thank you Carson Daly for babysitting the musicians and making sure our shoes were tied and we had our lunch boxes. You are the backbone of this thing and we appreciate you more than you know.”
If you’re a big fan of Shevine, you might want to take a minute to grab some tissues before reading his parting words to Blake. Ready?
“And, BLAKE F****N’ SHELTON. I couldn’t hide my love for you if I tried,” he said. “Seriously. I tried. Can’t do it. Our friendship is and always will be one for the books. Whatever this whole surreal experience was, Im just happy I got to experience it with you. You’re my brother for life. Kelly and John, take care of the cowboy and I’m sure I’ll be back to say hi very very soon. So much love to you both.”
Don’t worry, he didn’t forget one of the most important components, either. “And lastly, to all of the loyal voice fans, there’s literally no show without you guys,” he said. “For me, it was time to move on. Your support has meant EVERYTHING.”
BRB crying until season 17 premieres. (At least we have Gwen Stefani!)
