Earlier this year, A Quiet Place writers Scott Beck and Bryan Woods released their dinosaur action film 65 starring Adam Driver and the Kisatchie National Forest in Central Louisiana. Now, the feature film is headed to Netflix.

65's site manager David Thornsberry told the Leesville Daily the production team was open to filming anywhere in Louisiana that would fit their needs. While the majority of it was shot in south Louisiana locations, Thornsberry was still in need of something with unique visuals for a few key scenes.

"65" (March 17, theaters): The sci-fi thriller stars Adam Driver as a pilot who thinks he's crashed on an unknown planet and instead finds himself stranded on Earth 65 million years ago, where he faces dinosaurs and other deadly prehistoric creatures.

The science fiction action movie follows Driver as Commander Mills whose ship crash lands on Earth 65 million years earlier. He has to fight actual dinosaurs to keep himself and a young surviving passenger alive. One scene in particular saw the unlikely duo traveling through a destroyed forest that may look familiar to north Louisianians.

In 2020, Hurricane Laura tore through the state causing significant damage. The Kisatchie National Forest's Calcasieu Ranger District in both Rapides and Vernon Parishes sustained an estimated $70 million in damage. The entire district was forced to close all recreation areas, hiking trials and campgrounds.

The Sony Pictures-backed film shot in Kisatchie in the winter of 2020-2021 and the parish received a significant economic boost during that time.
