Film distributor Neon has just released an early still from Ferrari, Michael Mann's biopic of car manufacturer founder Enzo Ferrari, ahead of the film's debut at the Venice Film Festival in August, giving fans a glimpse of Adam Driver in the leading role, complete with slick Italian style and a silver fox hairstyle.

An actor's actor, Driver has become known for his frequently unflattering on-screen transformations: he donned some questionable yet period-appropriate Coke bottle specs and '80s garb in 2021's House of Gucci, and morphed into frazzled suburban dad Jack Gladney in Noah Baumbach's 2022 adaptation of the Don DeLillo novel White Noise.

Based on the nonfiction book Enzo Ferrari: The Man and the Machine by Brock Yates, Ferrari takes place in the summer of 1957, a pivotal time in the man's life as he both grieved for his son Alfredo following his death the year before, and struggled to bring his eponymous company back from the brink of bankruptcy.

Ferrari also stars actor and race car driver Patrick Dempsey, who underwent a hair transformation of his own for the movie, dying his hair platinum blonde in order to play real-life racer Piero Taruffi.

The cast also includes Penélope Cruz as Laura Ferrari, Shailene Woodley as Lina Lardi, Gabriel Leone as Alfonso de Portago, Jack O'Connell as Peter Collins, Sarah Gadon as Linda Christian, Michele Savoia as Carlo Chiti, Giuseppe Bonifati as Giacomo Cuoghi, and Erik Haugen as Edmund Nelson.
