Blonde is always in, but when you've turned your dark brown hair to a pale shade of platinum, your eyebrows are a dead giveaway that your light locks aren't even close to real. But here's some good news for all you brunettes-gone-blonde: light hair and dark brows are trending for 2016.

Now that brows are so big in the beauty world, the way you style, pluck, and color your brows can totally change your look. "Pairing dark brows with light hair looks great because of the confidence it exudes," Matrix SOCOLOR StyleLink stylist George Papanikolas told Good Housekeeping. He adds that it "instantly makes the eyes pop" — a big benefit we're definitely loving.

Plus, dark brows and pale hair is a time-tested way to make a statement. Classic Hollywood actresses like Marilyn Monroe, Mae West, and Catherine Deneuve rocked this look decades before it hit the modern day red carpet.

So is there a shade that looks best with blonde hair? Papanikolas warns against going too dark — you want them to look fierce, not harsh. And if you're still not sure which color to pick, he recommends asking your colorist what range of hues to stay in so your brows will complement your current hair color and skin tone.
